I am so excited to be a part of the MVPC Family! It’s a new adventure to be the first Sports Ministry Pastor here at the church, but certainly not new to me. I have led sports ministry in Las Vegas since 2008. I was the So. NV Director for the Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA) for 15 years before starting a new sports ministry called Overtime Ministries (www.overtimeministries.org), where I work with former athletes, former first responders, military, prisoners, performers, and others to make the transition to new chapters of life. I work with them to identify value, purpose, and worth on the other side.
"I grew up in a military family, and so lived all over; South Dakota, Nebraska, Colorado, Missouri, Germany, and Ohio (where I claim "home" is). I have two older brothers who both went to the Air Force Academy and served careers in the Air Force. I went to the University of Missouri, where I received a Bachelor's of Journalism in Broadcasting."
Before ministry, I was on television for 15 years as a Sports Anchor, eleven of which were at Ch. 3 here in Las Vegas (7-time Sportscaster of the Year!).
The world of sports is a vast ministry field that I look forward to leading MVPC into through the influence of athletes and coaches. My MUCH better half is named Kelly. Between us, we have SEVEN daughters (four for me, three for Kel). My life verse is James 1:2-4, which taught me to always CHOOSE JOY! That fits right into the idea of laughing often and fearing not! I’m so excited to see what God is going to do with this position and the sports landscape of Las Vegas
