Richard Wilson grew up in Yakima, Washington and began his formal music training in 2003, studying the piano with Kim Button. In 2007, Richard added the organ to his studies with Button, transitioning his studies on the organ to work with Jerry Kaminski a few years later. Acclaimed on both instruments, Richard worked in various musical positions throughout Yakima, including regular appearances at Yakima Valley College and a tenure as organist for St. Timothy's Episcopal Church.
Upon graduation from high school, Richard attended Brigham Young University where he studied Organ Performance with Dr. Don Cook and Dr. Brian Mathias. While at BYU, Richard worked as an organist in various positions in the Utah and Salt Lake Valleys.
In 2021 Richard relocated to Las Vegas, continuing his work in music as collaborator, teacher, and church organist. He has served since 2023 as organist and choir pianist for Mountain View Presbyterian Church in Las Vegas.
When not practicing or performing, Richard enjoys attending magic shows, watching Star Wars, visiting Disneyland, fencing, and swing dancing.
