Thursday's Thoughts – That’s My King!

He is Risen! He is Risen indeed!

What a joy it is to write you this week—still basking in the glow of a Resurrection Sunday that stirred the soul, lifted the spirit, and filled our sanctuary with a kind of holy electricity that can only come from the living presence of Jesus!

From the very first note of worship to the final, resounding “Amen!”—you showed up. And "show out" you did!

As I stood before you and proclaimed the life-giving, heart-stirring truth of “That’s My King,” I could feel your energy, your faith, your love for Jesus surging through every “Preach it!”, every spontaneous applause, every echoing “Come on!” and “Amen!”

You weren’t just attending Easter—you were participating, praising, and proclaiming alongside me. And I want you to know how deeply that moved me.

That's what church and worship is supposed to feel like. Not a performance. Not a ritual. But a people, passionately in love with the Risen Savior, responding with joy to the One who walks out of tombs, shatters sin, and reigns forever.

The King I preached about on Easter is the King who reigns in your hearts—the King of compassion, power, grace, goodness, mercy, majesty, and matchless love. The King who’s never been voted in, can’t be voted out, and holds the whole world in His nail-scarred hands.

He’s the King who picked you.
Who pursued you.
Who pardoned you.

And on Sunday, I saw with my own eyes how many of you have crowned Him Lord not just of Easter… but of “every" day.

Thank you MVPC! Thank you for leaning in. For singing out. For standing up and shouting, “That’s My King!” with your lives, your voices, and your faith.

Let’s carry the Easter spirit into every room we walk into. Let’s continue to live like resurrection people—bold, joyful, fearless. Because the King we worship is alive. And He’s not just “the" King.

He’s “your” King!

He’s “my” King!

He’s “our” King!!!

With resurrection joy and gratitude,
Laugh Often and Fear Not.
Pastor David!

P.S. Let’s keep the celebration going!
