With all that is going on in the world today, my thoughts are rather singular in nature.
My son, Joshua Knox Dendy, after nine months of filling out college applications, writing hundreds of essays, visiting colleges and universities around the country, has finally made his choice of where he will attend college!
Along with my wife Julie, we are very proud to announce Joshua will be attending Florida State University in Tallahassee, Florida!
Joshua was accepted to ten colleges/universities and Florida State University won out.
Several factors allowed FSU to rise to the top.
- Joshua was accepted into FSU’s Honors Program which has a host of benefits. One of the big advantages of being in the Honors program for someone who is coming from “out of state” is tuition is based on the “in-state tuition” scale!
- Joshua was also accepted into FSU’s “FYA” program which stands for “Freshman Year Abroad.” Joshua will spend his first year of college studying at the FSU campus located in Valencia, Spain!! Joshua has been working hard on developing his Spanish speaking skills and with his time in Valencia he will become fluent in no time!
- Looks like Joshua might be pursuing a degree related to Finance and FSU has one of the best Finance programs in the country.
MVPC has had a unique view in watching Joshua grow up right before your very eyes. When we arrived in 2015 Joshua was in 4th grade. Now he is a Senior at Palo Verde High School getting ready to graduate next month.
Thank you for all your love and prayerful support of Joshua as he has grown up at MVPC!
Julie and I say, “Thank you!!"
Go Noles!!
Grace and peace,
Laugh often and Fear not!
David!
