Thursday’s Thoughts – The Most Important Decision in History
Good Morning
Today is Maundy Thursday!
On this sacred day nearly 2,000 years ago, Jesus gathered with His disciples in an upper room to celebrate the Passover—what we now call the Last Supper. Bread was broken. A cup was shared. Feet were washed. And amid it all, Jesus knew. He knew Judas would betray Him. He knew Peter would deny Him. He knew the cross was coming.
And still... He stayed.
After supper, Jesus made His way to the Garden of Gethsemane. In that quiet, olive-laden grove, we glimpse His humanity more raw and real than ever before. He prayed, sweating drops of blood, asking God if there was another way—any other way—to redeem the world.
There wasn’t.
And then came the most important decision in history.
With divine resolve and surrendered love, Jesus prayed,
“Not my will, but Yours be done.”
That decision set in motion the road to Calvary… and the empty tomb.
That moment in the garden shaped every moment after—for the world, and for you and me.
Maundy Thursday is a holy hinge—between table and trial, prayer and pain, obedience and glory. It reminds us that salvation didn’t begin at the cross or conclude at the grave. It started in a garden… with a decision.
Today, pause and remember the One who chose God’s will so that we might have life. The One who could have walked away, but walked toward the cross instead. The One whose love held nothing back.
Because of that love, Sunday is coming.
Grace and peace on this sacred Thursday,
Laugh Often and Fear Not!
Follow Jesus
David!
