This past Sunday at MVPC we took a look at the healing of the “Man born Blind” found in John 9.
As we looked at that passage we noticed there were six main characters involved in John’s telling of this story:
1. Jesus
2. Blind Man
3. Disciples
4. Pharisees
5. Neighbors of the blind man
6. Parents of the blind man
We asked the question, “Who do you identify with as you read the story?”
The crux of the miracle/sign Jesus performed was “the ‘blind' could see and the ‘seeing’ were blind.”
This Sunday we take a look at the last miracle of Jesus found in John - the raising of Lazarus.
This story is found in John 11… (click below)
I will give you a head start on this sermon.
After reading the story, which characters do you identify with?
The sisters, Mary and Martha?
Lazarus?
Jesus?
The mourners?
This passage has one of Jesus’ most foundational claims:
Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, 26 and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?” (John 11: 24-26)
Let me ask you the same question Jesus asked - “Do you believe this?”
See you Sunday!
Grace and peace,
Laugh often and Fear not!
David!
